Brigitte Sager MSN ARNP FNP-C NC-BC AFMC CNE is an experienced, board certified family nurse practitioner and board certified functional medicine practitioner with additional board certifications as a certified nurse educator and nurse coach.  With over eight years of hospital experience helping to put a band aid on our healthcare crisis, she then practiced as a primary care provider for four years. In this role, Brigitte worked with patients to improve their health outcomes, but came to learn that change is hard even in the face of real dire risk to health and happiness and that current mainstream treatments are not the answer. In most cases, patients using prescription drugs continue to suffer and develop new adverse health concerns from the drug side effects.  Working in corporate healthcare, she felt she had become a "manager of disease."

 

This motivated her to seek new solutions, which she found in functional medicine and nurse coaching.  Brigitte has completed the full training programs through the Institute for Functional Medicine and the School of Applied Functional Medicine, as well as consistently seeking new opportunities to learn more about functional medicine.  She is a lifelong learner, and is currently completing her post MSN doctorate in nursing practice.

 

Brigitte combines her training in functional medicine with her nurse coaching skills to help clients make real, positive changes towards a happier and healthier life.  Her passion for functional medicine and true healing has led her to become a public speaker at national conferences and to find ways to teach other nurses and nurse practitioners these healing practices.  Brigitte developed and teaches the Functional Medicine for Nurses program through the Integrative Nurse Coach Academy in partnership with the Institute for Functional Medicine.

Raising two teen sons in Washington state, she enjoys homesteading, traveling, and quality time with her family, friends, and her dogs.
